International Monetary Fund (IMF)

The Second Amendment to the Articles of Agreement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) entered into effect on 1 April 1978, leading to a number of changes in the structure of IMF and in its financial activities. These included surveillance over members’ exchange arrangements, changes in the role of gold and wider uses of the special drawing right (SDR). Further, virtually all the quota increases proposed in 1976 under the Sixth General Review of Quotas came into effect in 1978.
