The preparation of national accounts statistics in Panama is undertaken by the Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Censos (INEC) of Panama. Official estimates are published annually, from 1960 in "Estadistica Panamena, Serie C, Ingreso Nacional" and from 1976 in the bulletin "Situacion Economica. Sección 342. Cuentas Nacionales". The latter publication also contains the most detailed description of the sources and methods used for the national accounts estimation. The following tables have been prepared from successive replies to the United Nations national accounts questionnaire.
