It is somewhat difficult to provide an over-all picture of mining in Latin America owing to the complexity of working conditions and to the fact that the same analysis cannot be used for copper and tin, nor for Chile and Bolivia, where mining output is based on very diverse factors, although each metal plays an important role in the respective economies of the two countries.
