The Demographic Yearbook is an international collection of national demographic statistics, provided by national statistical authorities to the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. The Yearbook is in the set of coordinated and interrelated publications issued by the United Nations and its specialized agencies, designed to supply basic statistical data for such users as demographers, economists, public-health workers and sociologists.Under the coordinated plan, the Demographic Yearbook is the source of national demographic statistics. Through the co-operation of national statistical services, official demographic statistics are compiled in the Yearbook, as available, for over 230 countries or areas throughout the world.
