The Repertoire published by the United Nations Secretariat serves as a guide to the proceedings of the Security Council from its first meeting in 1946 onwards. It presents new trends in the Council's application of the UN Charter and its provisional rules of procedure. It is the only such official record and is based solely on the deliberations of the Council, its decisions and other official documentation before the Council. In the series of the Repertoire the fourteenth Supplement covers the years 2000 to 2003. It describes how during this period the Council responded to fresh challenges and threats to peace and security through new approaches to conflict prevention, peacekeeping and peace-building.
