World Meteorological Organization (WMO)

During 1978, four States became members of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO): Guinea-Bissau (14 January), Maldives (1 July), Djibouti (30 July) and the Gambia (1 November). Thus, total membership of WMO as at 31 December rose to 149—143 States and six territories.
