The crisis in the former Yugoslavia continued to dominate the agenda of the Security Council in 1995 and to engage the peace-keeping efforts and resources of the United Nations in unprecedented proportions. The situations in Georgia and in the Nagorny Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, and the long-standing question of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, also remained on the Organization’s agenda.
