The Universal Postal Union (UPU) continued to promote a fast and reliable universal postal service at affordable prices through international collaboration among its member countries. In 1999, the Universal Postal Congress, UPU’s supreme legislative body, adopted the Beijing Postal Strategy, the Union’s strategic document for 2000-2004. The year marked the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of UPU.
