The Yearbook of the United Nations details the many activities of the Organization and it’s organs, programmes and bodies, as they are carried out in all corners of the globe. It gives an account of their endeavours to create better and more peaceful conditions for all mankind and their efforts to deal with matters of pressing concern in a variety of areas. Each volume is fully indexed and reproduces all major General Assembly, Security Council and Economic and Social Council resolutions issued during the year.

Energy, natural resources and cartography

The development and conservation of natural resources and energy were considered by several United Nations bodies in 2000, including the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for Development, which discussed water and land management in the context of sustainable development and other water-resource issues. The Committee also made recommendations to the Economic and Social Council on energy-related matters.
