Assessment of Development Results
This series assesses the attainment of intended and achieved results as well as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) contributions to development results at the country level. Their scope include, but is not confined to, UNDP responsiveness and alignment to country challenges and priorities; strategic positioning; use of comparative advantage; and engagement with partners. The number and selection of countries, and the timing of these evaluations, are determined to ensure coverage and to allow findings and recommendations to feed into the preparation of the subsequent programme. Wherever possible, these evaluations will be conducted in conjunction with other United Nations organizations.

Assessment of Development Results - Montenegro
In Montenegro United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) focused on the republic’s continuing reform efforts. This assessment of Development Results (ADP) reviews the last five years of UNDP’s support to Montenegro from 2001-2005 within the context of its relationship with Serbia and its current and future development challenges. The assessment is based on an evaluation of current and past programmes and extensive stakeholder consultations. It provides an analysis of the extent to which UNDP has positioned itself effectively to identify and respond to national development needs. It also offers an overall assessment of the development results in the areas of post-conflict transition achieved in cooperation with the Government and other development partners.

In the first part of the 1990sUkraine’s transition took place against the backdrop of substantial economic and social decline. Since 1999 recovery has taken hold and the economic growth performance has been impressive in recent years. Still Ukraine continues to operate far below its human development potential especially in comparison to its European neighbours.
