To address the current and future information demands related to climate action, data producers need to understand the policy context, key stakeholders and their information needs, and be able to communicate effectively how their data can be used for policy applications. This report aims to provide the staff of national statistical offices (NSOs) with such knowledge, showcase what statistical systems already offer to support climate action, and provide ideas, inspiration and recommendations on how NSOs can make their offering more valuable for data users. The document examines a number of areas, such as the reporting under the Paris Agreement, climate change mitigation and adaptation, just transition, informing the public and financial aspects of climate action. The report identifies concrete ways in which national statistical offices (NSOs) can be involved and showcases what the statistical systems already offer to support climate action. The document’s primary audience is NSO staff, including domain experts and managers. The Guidance aims to inspire and support those who want to start to work in this area or want to do more. The report may also benefit data users, other producers of climate change-related data in countries and international organizations involved in climate change-related statistics.

Con ABC - La enseñanza de los derechos humanos se ha querido crear un instrumento para la educación de los derechos humanos fácil de usar así como un marco polifacético para tratar diversos aspectos de los derechos humanos básicos. En esta publicación se ofrecen consejos prácticos a los profesores y otros educadores que quieran fomentar el conocimiento de los derechos humanos y las actividades en ese campo entre los alumnos de las escuelas primarias y secundarias, y se proponen diversas actividades didácticas. Esta publicación no ha sido concebida como libro de texto de una asignatura más de los programas de estudios —que a buen seguro ya estarán sobrecargados— sino como ayuda para introducir los aspectos de los derechos humanos en las materias que ya se enseñan en las escuelas.

The World Programme for Human Rights Education was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2004 as an ongoing global initiative structured in consecutive phases in order to advance implementation of human rights education programmes in all sectors. Human rights education promotes a shared sense of humanity and fosters a common understanding that all human beings are equally deserving of dignity, respect and justice. It empowers children and youth to fulfil their role as global citizens, to take action and uphold their human rights and those of others, and to participate meaningfully in public affairs and democratic decision-making processes. In recognition of this, the United Nations Human Rights Council, through its resolution 57/10, launched the Fifth Phase (2025-2029) of the World Programme for Human Rights Education, dedicated to children and youth, with a focus on human rights education in three thematic areas: digital technologies and human rights, gender equality, and environment and climate change. Building on United Nations documents and consultations with a diverse range of stakeholders, this Fifth Phase publication outlines the scope, background, specific objectives and components of the plan of action and steps to implement it.

The Yearbook series is a result of collaborative efforts by major African regional organizations to set up a joint data collection mechanism of socioeconomic data on African countries, as well as the development of a harmonized database. It seeks to promote wider use of country data, reduce costs, significantly improve the availability and quality of the data, and lead to better monitoring of development initiatives on the continent. The data in this issue of the Yearbook are arranged generally for the years 2004-2012, or for the last eight years for which data are available. It is published in a single volume consisting of two parts: a set of summary tables followed by country profiles.

Despite growing momentum and investment in gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE), private sector efforts remain fragmented and under-measured. The core issue is a lack of systemic accountability, credible data, and meaningful incentives for businesses to embed gender equality across leadership, operations, and supply chains. This has resulted in uneven progress, persistent gaps in women’s representation and economic empowerment, and limited visibility into what works. This ground-breaking global report provides a global snapshot of progress, gaps, and promising practices in corporate efforts to advance GEWE. It offers critical insights for States, companies, investors, the United Nations, and development partners working to harness the private sector’s full potential to deliver on Sustainable Development Goal 5 and the Beijing+30 Action Agenda. The report offers governments actionable recommendations to strengthen regulatory frameworks, incentivize inclusive practices, and align national strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals. For companies, the report highlights the business case for equality and calls on them to move beyond compliance toward accountability, transparency, and innovation. At the same time, it provides UN entities with a shared evidence base to inform programming, policy advocacy, and joint initiatives—particularly in crisis response, financing for gender equality, and advancing women’s leadership.

Le monde est confronté à une alerte rouge pour la santé des enfants : la couverture vaccinale a fortement chuté pendant la pandémie de COVID-19, laissant des millions d’enfants supplémentaires sans protection contre certaines des maladies infantiles les plus graves. En outre, plusieurs millions d’enfants de certaines des communautés les plus marginalisées du monde n’ont pas pu bénéficier depuis longtemps d’une vaccination vitale. Le rattrapage et la récupération sont nécessaires de toute urgence pour vacciner les enfants manqués et éviter de nouvelles rechutes. Edited by Martin Grandjean and Daniel Laqua, this book brings together the work of 17 scholars and highlights the breadth of the League of Nations’ work in the field of intellectual cooperation, detailing a range of transnational connections across a variety of cultural fields. Building a new global order after the First World War required not only political and economic reconstruction, but also the coordination of scientific and cultural relations on an international scale. To this end, the League of Nations established first a committee and then a Paris-based institute dedicated to “intellectual cooperation”. Operative from1922 and 1926 respectively, these bodies aimed to develop a collaborative dynamic around issues as diverse as professor and student exchanges, scientific cooperation, the discussion of educational means for peace, as well as artistic and literary relations. Attracting some of the era’s most eminent intellectuals, this initiative did not lead to the creation of a “League of Minds”, as some of the architects of the League of Nations had so eagerly hoped, but it played a key role in the development of cultural diplomacy in the interwar period.
