This report is part of Sustainable Mobility and Smart Connectivity initiative, aimed at supporting selected countries in Central Asia, Caucasus and the Western Balkans in transitioning towards sustainable transport and better connectivity. It outlines national action plans designed to build the capacity of national stakeholders to implement sustainable mobility and smart connectivity policies. In collaboration with the Ministries, national stakeholders, and a national consultant, UNECE conducted an in-dept analysis to assess the current state of mobility sustainability and connectivity. The analysis identified key areas for improvement and, in agreement with national authorities, established priority areas for action. Based on these findings, the report proposes tailored actions plans and recommendations for Albania to implement the AETR and Smart Tachographs in the country.

Extension. Patrimoine naturel et culturel de la région d’Ohrid (Albanie)
La partie du lac d’Ohrid située en Macédoine du Nord ainsi que son arrière-pays, ville d’Ohrid comprise, est inscrite sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial depuis 1979. Avec cette extension, le site inclut désormais le reste du lac d’Ohrid situé en Albanie et, au nord-ouest du lac, la petite péninsule de Lin ainsi que la bande de terre, le long de la rive, qui relie la péninsule à la frontière macédonienne. Sur cette péninsule se trouvent les vestiges d’une chapelle chrétienne fondée au milieu du VIe siècle. Dans les eaux peu profondes près des rives du lac, trois sites témoignent de la présence d’habitations préhistoriques sur pilotis. Phénomène naturel exceptionnel, le lac sert de refuge à de nombreuses espèces endémiques de faune et de flore d’eau douce datant du Tertiaire.
Site Extension. Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Ohrid region (Albania)
The part of Lake Ohrid located in Northern Macedonia and its hinterland, including the town of Ohrid, has been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1979. With this extension, the site now encompasses the north-western, Albanian, part of Lake Ohrid, the small Lin Peninsula and the strip of land along the shoreline that connects the peninsula to the Macedonian border. The peninsula is the site of the remains of an Early Christian church founded in the middle of the 6th century. In the shallow waters near the shores of the lake, three sites testify to the presence of prehistoric pile dwellings. A superlative natural phenomenon, the lake provides a refuge for numerous endemic species of freshwater fauna and flora dating from the Tertiary period.
Extensión Patrimonio natural y cultural de la región de Ohrid (Albania)
En 1979 se inscribió en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial el sitio formado por la ribera del lago Ohrid situada en Macedonia del Norte, así como la ciudad de este mismo nombre y la región circundante. Con la actual extensión, el sitio abarca ahora la ribera del lago situada en Albania, comprendida la pequeña península noroccidental de Lin y la franja ribereña que se extiende desde ella hasta la frontera macedónica. Esta península alberga los vestigios de una capilla cristiana fundada a mediados del siglo VI. Cerca de la orilla albanesa hay tres zonas, situadas en aguas de escasa profundidad, en las que quedan restos de viviendas lacustres prehistóricas sobre pilotes. Excepcional en el plano geológico, el lago Ohrid alberga numerosas especies endémicas de vegetales y animales acuáticos que datan de la Era Terciaria.
