Women’s Economic Empowerment Strategy
Больше МеньшеАвтор: United Nations WomenThe “Women’s economic empowerment strategy” articulates UN Women’s vision for enabling women’s economic agency, autonomy, and well-being. The strategy assesses the global landscape and UN Women’s role in realizing the economic rights of women and girls. It lays out the global context for work on women’s economic empowerment, provides a rights-based and transformative definition of economic empowerment, identifies gaps in current global efforts to achieve women’s economic empowerment, and then situates UN Women’s work on women’s economic empowerment within these broader efforts. Drawing on UN Women’s unique mandate and comparative advantage, it then lays out the opportunities for accelerating progress. Its objective is to provide a framework that galvanizes internal and external stakeholders to work together at the local, national, and global level through transformative solutions that improve the lives of women and girls with no one left behind.

Women in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism
Больше МеньшеАвтор: United Nations WomenAs violent extremist activities around the world increasingly target women and women’s rights, this training manual is designed for actors involved in the prevention and countering of such violent extremism in Europe and Central Asia. It aims to support the relevant actors, including state officials, NGOs, community activists, UN staff, and international and regional organizations, in understanding violent extremism’s gender dimensions. While women are often portrayed only as victims in the face of the sexual and gender-based violence used to terrorize communities, they are also on the frontlines of prevention and response, leading civil society organizations and bolstering social resilience. Promoting women as agents of peace recognizes and respects their contributions to and perspectives on peacebuilding and renders Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) more effective, sustainable and meaningful.

Social Protection and Its Effects on Gender Equality: A Literature Review
Больше МеньшеАвторы): UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre and Elena CamillettiThis paper provides an overview of the latest evidence on the effects of social protection on gender equality. It starts by considering how risks and vulnerabilities are gendered, and the implications of their gendered nature for boys’ and girls’, and men’s and women’s well-being throughout the life course. It then reviews and discusses the evidence on the design features of four types of social protection programmes – non-contributory programmes, contributory programmes, labour market programmes, and social care services – and their effects on gender equality, unpacking which design features matter the most to achieve gender equality. Finally, the paper concludes with implications for a future research agenda on gender and social protection.
