Statistical Papers - United Nations (Ser. A), Population and Vital Statistics Report
The Population and Vital Statistics Report series presents data for countries or areas on population size (total, male, and female) from the latest available census, estimated total population size for the later available year, and the number and rate of vital events (live births, deaths, and infant deaths) for the latest available year within the past 15 years. These data are presented as reported by national statistical authorities to the Demographic Yearbook of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
World Mortality Report 2015 Highlights
World Mortality Report 2015 Highlights is a publication that provides an overview of the estimated and projected trends in mortality at the world level for development groups and major areas; the analysis also focuses on country and regional data for selected mortality indicators. In addition to examining the summary indicator of life expectancy at birth the report analyzes levels and trends in mortality for key age groups in childhood and provides a snapshot of adult and “old age” mortality levels. It also examines the socio-economic determinants of child hood mortality at the aggregate level across countries and on disparities within countries in 50 low-and middle-income (LMIC) countries based on Demographic and Health Surveys data. The primary audience of this report are Member states. The publication is also useful for population scientists.

The World’s Cities in 2016
In 2016 an estimated 54.5 per cent of the world’s population lived in urban settlements. By 2030 urban areas are projected to house 60 per cent of people globally and one in every three people will live in cities with at least half a million inhabitants. Understanding the key trends in urbanization likely to unfold over the coming years is crucial to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and for efforts to forge a new framework of urban development during the Habitat III conference scheduled to be held in Quito Ecuador in October 2016. This data booklet highlights current and future trajectories of populations in cities around the globe drawing on population estimates and projections published in World Urbanization Prospects: The 2014 Revision.

This comprehensive review of worldwide demographic trends and future prospects is essential for assessing the degree of progress made in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to guide policies aimed at achieving the new post-2015 development agenda which Member States will adopt this fall. The full results of the 2015 revision will be made available in the form of a two volume report.

International Migration Report 2015 - Highlights
This report presents the highlights of the International Migration Report 2015 which contains the latest quinquennial estimates of international migrant stock for 232 countries or areas from 2000 to 2015. The annex in these Highlights provides data for 2000 and 2015 on the estimated number of international migrants the percentage of migrants in the total population the percentage of female migrants and the median age of migrants for 232 countries or areas of the world.
International Migration Report 2015
This report presents information on levels and trends in international migration for major areas regions and countries of the world and on the ratification status of migration-related legal instruments. The data for the international migrant stock described in chapter I are taken from the publication Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2015 Revision while the estimates on the total population in chapter I are based on World Population Prospects: The 2015 Revision DVD Edition. The estimates on net migration and the projected population up to 2050 presented in chapter II are based on World Population Prospects: The 2015 Revision DVD Edition. Chapter III provides an analysis of the status of ratification (by Member States) of the migration-related legal instruments of the United Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO) based on information from the United Nations Treaty Section (http://treaties.un.org) and the NORMLEX Information System on International Labour Standards (http://www.ilo.org).
