The Population and Vital Statistics Report series presents data for countries or areas on population size (total, male, and female) from the latest available census, estimated total population size for the later available year, and the number and rate of vital events (live births, deaths, and infant deaths) for the latest available year within the past 15 years. These data are presented as reported by national statistical authorities to the Demographic Yearbook of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

International Migration Report 2013
This report presents information on international migration levels trends and legal instruments for major areas regions and countries of the world. The data for the international migrant stock described in chapter I are taken from the two volumes of the publication Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2013 Revision-Migrants by Age and Sex and Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2013 Revision-Migrants by Destination and Origin while the estimates on the total population in chapter I are based on World Population Prospects: The 2012 Revision DVD Edition. The estimates on net migration and the projected population up to 2050 presented in chapter II are based on World Population Prospects: The 2012 Revision DVD Edition. Chapter III provides an analysis of the ratification status of migration-related legal instruments for Member States of the United Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO) based on information from the United Nations Treaty Section and the NORMLEX Information System on International Labour Standards which can be accessed at http://treaties.un.org and http://www.ilo.org respectively.

World Population Policies 2011
This report provides a comprehensive overview of key aspects of population policies and dynamics for 196 countries since the mid-1970s. Updated biennially it documents changes in more than 40 aspects of Government views and policies related to population size and growth population age structure fertility reproductive health and family planning health and mortality spatial distribution and internal migration and international migration. The report also includes two-page country profiles with the first page containing information on changes in the Government views and policies and the second page containing data on selected population indicators corresponding to the timing of three major international population conferences from mid-1970s to mid-1990s and for 2011 the most recent revision year.
World Abortion Policies 2013 (Wall Chart)
The World Abortion Policies 2013 wall chart provides up-to-date and objective information on abortion policies that is legal grounds on which induced abortion is permitted for each of 193 Member and 3 non-member States of the United Nations. The wall chart includes information on seven legal grounds namely: (1) to save the life of a woman; (2) to preserve a woman’s physical health; (3) to preserve a woman’s mental health; (4) in case of rape or incest; (5) because of foetal impairment; (6) for economic or social reasons; and (7) on request. The wall chart also includes information on national estimates of induced abortion rate fertility rate maternal mortality ratio level of contraceptive use unmet need for family planning and Government support for family planning as well as regional estimates of unsafe abortion.
International Migration Policies 2013 (Wall Chart)
The International Migration Policies 2013 wall chart provides up-to-date information on Government views and policies on international migration issues including immigration emigration naturalization and integration of migrants for 193 Member and 3 non-member States of the United Nations. The wall chart also provides specific measures adopted to increase investment by the diaspora. In addition the wall chart includes information on estimates of migrant stocks share of females among international migrants net migration rates and remittances.
Population Ageing and Development 2012 (Wall Chart)
The chart contains up-to-date demographic socioeconomic and labour force participation indicators of the older population in 230 countries in the world including reference to the urban-rural differences in population ageing. The indicators include the number and proportion of the population aged 60 or over aged 80 or over life expectancy at age 60; the percentage currently married living alone and in the labour force among those aged 60 or over; the old-age support ratio and the statutory retirement age.
Population and HIV/AIDS 2007 (Wall Chart)
This wall chart presents the latest available data and information on HIV/AIDS for all countries and regions of the world with emphasis on government measures implemented in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The data for the international migrant stock are taken from the publication Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2008 Revision. The estimates on the total population net migration and the projected population up to 2050 are based on World Population Prospects: The 2008 Revision. For the first time data on international migration flows for a selected group of countries are included in the analysis. The data come from the dataset International Migration Flows to and from Selected Countries: The 2008 Revision. The analysis of the ratification status of migration-related legal instruments for Member States of the United Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO) is based on information from the United Nations Treaty Section which can be accessed at treaties.un.org.
