Trinidad and Tobago has ratified and implemented a number of conventions and treaties to combat the threat of nuclear arms. In implementing Security Council resolution 1540, it enacted Anti-terrorism Act No. 26 of 2005, providing for the detection, prevention prosecution, conviction and punishment of terrorist activities. Additionally, it encourages multilateral and regional cooperation in non-proliferation and continues to move to ratify other conventions covering all areas of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their uses.
