The discontinuance of Nuclear Weapon tests

During the period 1970-1975, efforts continued to achieve a treaty for the permanent prohibition of all nuclear-weapon test explosions— a goal that had been proclaimed in the preamble of the 1963 Treaty Banning Nuclear Weapon Tests in the Atmosphere, in Outer Space and under Water, as well as in the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
