During 2005, the implementation of the Secretary-General’s programme of reformof the Organization continued, with actions centred around the UN system’s role in addressing the core challenges of development. In a report on the implementation of the Millennium Declaration, the Secretary-General considered issues relating to the use of monitoring, evaluation and reporting by theUNsystem, and stressed the importance of integrating and aligning UN development policies with the priorities and strategies of national Governments.
