Effects of armed conflicts on treaties

The purpose of the present report is to present the first seven draft articles of the original draft, contained in the first report on the effects of armed conflicts on treaties, submitted in 2005 at the fifty-seventh session of the International Law Commission, with reference to issues raised in the subsequent debates in the Commission and the Sixth Committee of the General Assembly. The presentation of the first seven draft articles would seem to be a practical way of moving forward. The Special Rapporteur had, during the debate at the fifty-seventh session of the Commission, emphasized that the first presentation was provisional in character and did not involve a rush to judgement.
