The Blue Mountain coffee production region is located in three specific parishes of Jamaica: Portland, Saint Andrew and Saint Thomas. More than 7,700 farmers produce this world famous coffee across only about 5,000 ha at between 2,000 and 5,000 feet above sea level. The region was with an average rainfall of 78 in. (1,900 mm) and an average daytime temperature of 81° F (27º C). Most farms cultivate the Typica variety and 97% of them are small with a relatively low production output.
