Foreign direct investment and transnational corporations in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2006 net FDI inflows in Latin America and the Caribbean, excluding the main financial centres, amounted to US$ 72.44 billion. This is 1.5% higher than the 2005 figure and confirms that investment levels have stabilized after having declined early in the decade. This stability contrasts, however, with the estimated 34% growth in global FDI flows.
