This publication informs on recent trends in trade policy by providing up-to-date statistics on the use of various instruments of trade policy and how their use evolved in the medium term. This publication covers various policy factors affecting international trade including tariffs, preferential margins, non-tariff measures, trade defence measures, regional trade agreements and exchange rates. Statistics are reported by country, geographic region and by broad economic sector.

Так в 1988 году о «Курьере» отзывался американский журналист Сэнди Коффлер ‒ основатель и первый главный редактор издания, сопровождающего ЮНЕСКО во всех ее действиях с 1948 года.
Со временем «Курьер» значительно видоизменился, как в плане содержания, так и в плане формата. Однако издание всегда оставалось верным своей первой и главной миссии: отстаивать идеалы ЮНЕСКО, служить платформой для межкультурного диалога и трибуной для международных дебатов.
«Курьер», у которого в марте 2006 года появилась онлайн-версия, стремится отвечать потребностям читателей, разбросанных по всему земному шару: журнал выходит в формате PDF на шести официальных языках Организации (английском, французском, испанском, арабском, русском и китайском), а также на португальском, эсперанто и корейском языках. Кроме того, журнал издается ограниченным тиражом.
