Intraregional trade of ESCWA member countries: Introduction

This chapter presents analysis and statistics for ESCWA member countries for which data on intraregional trade in non-oil goods were available for 2015. Total intraregional exports decreased by $1.9 billion compared to the previous year despite the observed increases in a few of the region’s countries. Available data confirm the increasing importance of the share of intraregional exports to the Arab region’s total of non-oil exports, with a rise from 21 per cent in 2014 to 25 per cent in 2015
