The Sustainable Development Goals Report
On 1 January 2016, the world officially began the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – the transformative plan of action based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals – to address urgent global challenges over the next 15 years. With the aim to offer an accurate evaluation of where the world stands in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals Report presents an overview of the 17 goals based on a proposed global indicator framework, using data provided by the United Nations and other international agencies. The data and analysis provided in the report highlight the most significant gaps and challenges, so that steps can be taken to reverse these trends.

The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023: Special Edition
The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023: Special Edition provides a powerful call to action presenting a candid assessment of the SDGs based on the latest data and estimates. While highlighting the existing gaps and urging the world to redouble its efforts the report also emphasizes the immense potential for success through strong political will and the utilization of available technologies resources and knowledge. Together the global community can reignite progress towards achieving the SDGs and create a brighter future for all. According to the report the impacts of the climate crisis the war in Ukraine a weak global economy and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have revealed weaknesses and hindered progress towards the Goals. The report further warns that while lack of progress is universal it is the world’s poorest and most vulnerable who are experiencing the worst effects of these unprecedented global challenges. It also points out areas that need urgent action to rescue the SDGs and deliver meaningful progress for people and the planet by 2030.
The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2022
The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2022 presents how far we have come towards reaching the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This seventh edition of the annual report also looks at the trends since 2015 and impact of COVID-19 on the progress. It uses the latest available data and inputs from custodian agencies of the United Nations system other international agencies and is prepared by the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The annual Sustainable Development Goals Report provides an overview of the world’s implementation efforts to date highlighting areas of progress and areas where more action needs to be taken to ensure no one is left behind. While advances have been made in some areas monumental challenges remain. The evidence and data spotlight areas that require urgent attention and more rapid progress to realize the 2030 Agenda’s far-reaching vision. This sixth edition of the report also looks at the impact of COVID-19 in reaching the Goals.
