Assessment of Development Results
This series assesses the attainment of intended and achieved results as well as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) contributions to development results at the country level. Their scope include, but is not confined to, UNDP responsiveness and alignment to country challenges and priorities; strategic positioning; use of comparative advantage; and engagement with partners. The number and selection of countries, and the timing of these evaluations, are determined to ensure coverage and to allow findings and recommendations to feed into the preparation of the subsequent programme. Wherever possible, these evaluations will be conducted in conjunction with other United Nations organizations.

The ADR exercise is forward-looking and is aimed at drawing lessons for future UNDP programming in Benin.
Assessment of Development Results - Chile
The publication presents an assessment of UNDP’s contribution to development results in Chile was performed during 2009 to help design a new country programme and covers the 2001-2009 period including the 2001-2003 programming cycle that extended through 2006 and the 2007-2010 cycle. The assessment has two main components or dimensions: the evaluation of UNDP’s contribution to development results in Chile and the Agency’s strategic positioning. It offers a synthesis of the context in its multiple dimensions: political socioeconomic human development environmental and energy. This synthesis provides a framework for the treatment of the role of the United Nations system and of UNDP Chile during the period examined. The book illustrates the contributions of UNDP to development results and reviews UNDP’s strategic positioning. The final part presents findings lessons and recommendations of the assessment.

Assessment of Development Results - Papua New Guinea
The evaluation examines the strategic relevance and positioning of UNDP support and its contributions to development results in Papua New Guinea from 2003 to 2011. During the period covered by the evaluation UNDP technical support to the government strengthened institutional development and enhanced policy formulation. Although some of the areas were not key government priorities UNDP interventions in the areas of MDG planning and monitoring governance HIV and AIDS conflict prevention and recovery energy and environment and disaster risk management responded to key national needs and priorities. It identified a number of areas in which UNDP needs to address specific challenges which include ensuring national ownership and capacity development of all UNDP interventions following a more systematic approach to programming and enhancing synergies among interventions.
Assessment of Development Results - Thailand
This report examines the strategic relevance and positioning of UNDP support and its contribution to the development of Thailand under the two recent country programmes for 2002-2006 and 2007-2011. As Thailand has become a middle-income country UNDP has been seeking to reposition itself making an effort to shift its approach from a project-based one to policy-level support. However it has still been running projects that are often parallel to national programmes and activities relying on the funds it has raised. With shrinking funding base this mode of operation has put a limitation on the impact it could have. The report found high expectations among the Thai people for UNDP to represent and promote the values that UN espouses.
