Introduction

The Energy Statistics Yearbook 2012 is a comprehensive collection of international energy statistics prepared by the United Nations Statistics Division. It is the fifty-sixth in a series of annual compilations which commenced under the title World Energy Supplies in Selected Years, 1929-1950. It updates the statistical series shown in the previous issue, (with certain exceptions due to table updates described below). Supplementary series of monthly data on production of energy may be found in the Monthly Bulletin of Statistics.
