The importance of China’s forest products markets to the UNECE region

China has emerged as the world’s second largest exporter and third largest importer in recent years. The value of trade has increased dramatically in the past decade. For example, in 2008, the total value of China’s imports was $1,133.1 billion a ten-fold increase in 10 years (graph 1.1.1).
