Human resources management and staff integrity measures

The Convention against Corruption includes provisions addressing the human resources management of officers working in the public sector, which therefore apply to prison staff. With regard to prison management, the Nelson Mandela Rules as well as other relevant international standards and norms underline, in particular, the need to carefully select, train and manage staff to enable them to carry out their functions in a professional manner.
