Although there is no clear definition of sustainability governance, it is possible to agree that it is decision-making of a local participatory type with the aim of building a sustainable regional society. Sustainability governance is not governance of the top-down type under the leadership of an administration. Nor is it “management”. Rather it is a bottom-up style of decision-making that involves various participating citizens and stakeholders.
