About the 1992 edition of the Yearbook

This edition of the YEARBOOK OF THE UNITED NATIONS, like the previous volumes, is intended to provide the general public and research community with the most comprehensive and up-to-date reference tool on the activities of the United Nations. The timely publication of the 1992 edition within 1993 reflects the continuing commitment by the Department of Public Information of the United Nations to ensure that the “peoples of the United Nations” receive, within a single volume, current and detailed accounts of the dynamic political dramas and substantive work of their Organization. The efforts to restore the Yearbook to a timely annual publication imply having to rely on provisional documentation and other materials for the preparation of the required articles, as not all final documents were available at the time of writing.
