The Yearbook of the United Nations details the many activities of the Organization and it’s organs, programmes and bodies, as they are carried out in all corners of the globe. It gives an account of their endeavours to create better and more peaceful conditions for all mankind and their efforts to deal with matters of pressing concern in a variety of areas. Each volume is fully indexed and reproduces all major General Assembly, Security Council and Economic and Social Council resolutions issued during the year.

International tribunals

In 2000, the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 (ICTY) instituted internal reforms and saw an increase in the number of so-called highprofile accused persons anticipated to stand trial.
