170. Estimates presented in the World Drug Report 30 show that cannabis is the most widely abused drug in all parts of the world, with an estimated 141 million people consuming it. This represents about 2.5% of the world population (annual prevalence). Prevalence data suggest that the use of cannabis is particularly high in West Africa, Oceania, Central America, North America, and in a number of European countries.
