Introduction

This first volume of the Yearbook covers the works of the first three sessions of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Before explaining the purpose and scope of the Yearbook, it may be helpful to outline briefly the task assigned to the Commission and the functions it perrforms for the accomplishment of that task.
