Conclusions and next steps

195. The recommendations set out in the preceding Chapter are all based on the Task Force’s view that official statistics stand at a crossroads. The Task Force believes that action is necessary now to ensure the continuation of previous success to take advantage of the unique opportunities that present themselves, and to deal decisively with the threats that are also evident.
