In 2013, the value (in current US$) of exports of "hides and skins (except furskins), raw" (SITC group 211) increased by 16.4 percent (compared to 21.9 percent average growth rate from 2009-2013) to reach 9.1 bln US$ (see table 2), while imports increased by 14.9 percent to reach 9.1 bln US$ (see table 3). Exports of this commodity accounted for 1.1 percent of world exports of SITC sections 2+4, and less than 0.1 percent of total world merchandise exports (see table 1). USA, Australia and France were the top exporters in 2013 (see table 2). They accounted for 27.7, 10.9 and 5.9 percent of world exports, respectively. China, Italy and Rep. of Korea were the top destinations, with respectively 39.1, 16.8 and 5.3 percent of world imports (see table 3).
