Since 1996, the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Programme (PMP) has been contributing to the development of the capacities of maritime and inland ports. This has encouraged the strengthening of port communities as a whole, providing specific and practical support towards the development of efficient, competitive, modern and sustainable ports; thus, enabling national, regional and international trade in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
