Transportation and Public Safety
Good practices from ece member countries in preparing national master plans
There are differences in freight transport and logistics performance among the UNECE member States. There are countries in the region that are leaders in freight transport and logistics. They shape through their action the development of the sector. There are other countries which learning from the good practice available work on developing their freight transport and logistics sector.
Transport ferroviaire
The role of governments in freight transport and logistics
Future prosperity requires amongst other things that the flow of goods is seamless. This can be only possible if the freight transport and logistics industry is able to organise coordinate and move these flows in an efficient and optimized way. This should mean fast but safe (for humans animals and plants health) and secure and at possibly lowest costs for customers and for public at large freight transport operations. The latter requires minimising freight transport and logistics sector externalities.
Aнализ чувствительности
The State of Urban Passenger Transport Systems in Asia
Over the past twenty years Asian cities have become some of the most vibrant and dynamic in the world. This is reflected in the rise in people’s mobilities and activity participation. Table 2.1 shows passenger transport activities in 2019 for some of the most populous countries in Asia and compares them to 2010 levels. Unsurprisingly the passenger kilometres travelled are high in these countries because of their population size but the rate of growth is also notable: India’s passenger transport activity grew by 122 per cent between 2010 and 2019 while Indonesia’s passenger activity grew by 43 per cent.
Introduction
UNECE activities focused on developing standards and conventions in inland navigation began following the establishment of the Sub-Committee on Inland Water Transport by the Inland Transport Committee of UNECE at its sixteenth session in December 1956. It was acknowledged that harmonized navigation rules were essential to facilitate traffic on inland waterways and to ensure safety and this Sub-Committee subsequently transformed into the Working Party on Inland Water Transport (SC.3) has since then been the guardian of these rules.
Aerosoles y productos químicos a presión
