Its purpose is to bring this information together in one place and present it in an accessible way. It is intended to establish a common baseline of humanitarian data that allow for comparisons across time. Highlights

In 2013, 148.2 million people were affected by natural disasters or displaced by conflict. Protracted, conflict-driven emergencies, more so than natural emergencies, tested the humanitarian community’s capacity.
