Climate change is projected to slow development and impact a wide scope of factors ranging from economic growth, food security, and poverty reduction, particularly in urban, coastal, and agricultural areas. Recognizing the need for an effective and progressive response to the urgent threat of climate change, the 2015 Paris Agreement aims to strengthen global response, by all countries agreeing to limit the global temperature rise well below 2°C. Indeed, the Asia-Pacific region needs to take quick action on climate change mitigation and adaptation, in order to achieve the SDGs and ensure sustainable livelihoods for all.
