Imbalances in paid and unpaid work

Both paid and unpaid work contribute to the realization of human potential—as preceding chapters have indicated. Indeed, most individuals need to accommodate both in their daily lives. However, there continue to be pronounced imbalances between men and women in how this balance is struck and in the degree of freedom available to make choices in this respect.
