In 2012, the value (in current prices) of exports of raw hides and skins, except furskins (SITC group 211) decreased by 2.7 percent and reached 7.8 bln US$ (see tables 1 and 2). Imports did not record any increase or decrease from the 2011 value of 8.0 bln US$ (see tables 1 and 3). Graph 1 shows the decrease in exports for 2012 in this product group compared to the decrease in world exports of inedible crude materials (except fuels), animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes (SITC sections 2+4) of 5.3 percent and the increase in total world exports of 0.3 percent. Exports of raw hides and skins, except furskins (SITC group 211) accounted for 0.9 percent of world exports of SITC sections 2+4 and less than 0.1 percent of total world exports in 2012 (see table 1).
