Power grid connectivity at the subregional level

At present, interconnectivity and trading of energy in the Asia-Pacific region is largely bilateral. Interconnections are not numerous and are generally of low capacity. These connections were often built for the purpose of near-border trading, not with the intention of integration to create international, subregionalor regional-scale power grids.
