Classification procedures, test methods and criteria relating to self-reactive substances of division 4.1 and organic peroxides of division 5.2

Part II of the Manual presents the United Nations schemes for the classification of selfreactive substances of Division 4.1 and organic peroxides of Division 5.2 (see respectively subsection 2.4.2.3 and section 2.5.3 of the Model Regulations). It includes a description of the procedures, test methods and criteria considered to be the most suitable for providing competent authorities with the necessary information to arrive at a proper classification of these substances for transport. It should be used in conjunction with the classification principles given in paragraphs 20.4.2 (Division 4.1) and 20.4.3 (Division 5.2) and the flow chart given in Figure 20.1 (see also 2.4.2.3.3 and 2.5.3.3 in the Model Regulations).
