Regional connectivity in the context of the present report is defined as a network of regional infrastructure that facilitates the flow of goods, services, people and knowledge in a cost and time-effective way. It therefore plays an important role in market integration and rural-urban transitions in the region as well as in the effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, both directly and indirectly. However, careful guidance is required to ensure that the potential negative impacts are minimized.
