Recommendation No. 48: Private Sector Participation in National Trade Facilitation Bodies
Over the past decades governments donors and international organizations have invested in establishing national trade facilitation bodies (NTFBs) which currently exist in many countries around the world. According to the 2023 edition of the United Nations Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation Survey 148 out of 163 respondent economies have established or partially established NTFBs. In the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) region 31 out of 48 participating countries have established NTFBs with an additional 9 countries having partially established them.

This first edition titled Challenging the Narrative aims to deconstruct negative perceptions of migration in Africa by addressing contextual realities and bringing to light practical interventions and evidence-based knowledge on what is happening on the ground.

Statistics of Road Traffic Accidents in Europe and North America 2017
This publication provides comparable data on causes types and results of accidents in Europe Canada and the United States. Data are organized by nature of accident and surroundings; accidents while under the influence of alcohol; and the number of persons killed or injured by category or road user and age group. As background data figures on the number of road vehicles in use and vehicle-kilometers run by road vehicles are also provided along with estimates of population and distribution by age group. This publication contains important statistical information for those involved in transportation planning and road safety issues.

This paper describes why ECE-UN/CEFACT standards and tools are ideally suited to support DPP development explains which current and forthcoming ECE-UN/CEFACT standards and tools can assist in the development of DPPs notably the traceability and transparency standards; and provides specific recommendations on how ECE-UN/CEFACT standards and tools could be further developed to support the adoption of DPPs. This paper supports the outcomes of the seventieth Commission session on Digital and Green Transformations for Sustainable Development in the Region of the Economic Commission for Europe (E/ECE/1504) and is part of the ECE Sustainability Pledge initiative for sustainable value chains in critical sectors for the circular economy.

In accordance with Article 102 of the Charter and the relevant General Assembly Resolutions every treaty and international agreement registered or filed and recorded with the Secretariat since 1945 is published in the United Nations Treaty Series. At present the collection includes about 30000 treaties reproduced in their authentic languages together with translations into English and French as necessary.

Urban Climate Action: The Urban Content of the NDCs - Global Review 2022
This report was prepared by United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat) and the UNESCO Chair on Urban Resilience at the University of Southern Denmark. It offers a global analysis of the urban content of 193 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) submitted to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) before the 19th of June 2022. For this report more than 200 indicators were used to analyse external data (e.g. Human Development Index and income categorisation) and data within the NDCs including climate mitigation and adaptation challenges and responses as well as specific sectors.
Recomendaciones relativas al transporte de mercancías peligrosas
Las Recomendaciones relativas al Transporte de Mercancías Peligrosas están destinadas a los gobiernos y a las organizaciones internacionales que se ocupan de la reglamentación del transporte de mercancías peligrosas. En su 19° período de sesiones (2 a 10 de diciembre de 1996) el Comité aprobó una primera versión de la “Reglamentación Modelo para el Transporte de Mercancías Peligrosas” que se adjuntó como anexo a la décima edición revisada de las Recomendaciones relativas al Transporte de Mercancías Peligrosas. Con esta medida se consideró que se mejoraría la armonización se facilitaría la actualización periódica de todos los instrumentos jurídicos pertinentes y se permitiría un considerable ahorro de recursos a los gobiernos de los Estados Miembros a las Naciones Unidas a los organismos especializados y a otras organizaciones internacionales.

The Berkeley Protocol on Digital Open Source Investigations identifies international standards for conducting online research of alleged violations of international criminal human rights and humanitarian law. It provides guidance on methodologies and procedures for gathering analyzing and preserving digital information in a professional legal and ethical manner. The Protocol sets out measures that online investigators can and should take to protect the digital physical and psychosocial safety of themselves and others including witnesses victims and first responders (such as citizens activists and journalists) who risk their own wellbeing to document war crimes and human rights violations so that those who are responsible are brought to justice.
Voluntary Peer Review of Consumer Protection Law and Policy - Thailand
General Assembly resolution 70/186 mandates the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy to conduct voluntary peer reviews on consumer protection law and policy. The purpose of voluntary peer reviews in this field is to provide an external and independent assessment of the effectiveness of consumer protection law and policy in a given country; to identify the challenges to be addressed and areas to be improved in the legal and institutional frameworks thereby contributing to enhancing quality efficiency and consumer protection regimes; to assess the consumer protection awareness of relevant stakeholders and their contributions in this area; to formulate and recommend appropriate measures designed in consideration of the economic and developmental particularities of each country to address these challenges; and where appropriate to assist countries in implementing the recommendations by developing a capacity-building project in consultation with the country concerned. The present publication serves as basis for the Voluntary Peer Review on Consumer Protection Law and Policy of Thailand.

The UNCTAD voluntary peer review of competition law and policy of Malawi was conducted at the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy meeting in Geneva on July 8th 2021.
Psychotropic Substances 2022
On an annual basis the Psychotropics Control Section of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) secretariat publishes a technical report that provides an overview of the worldwide licit manufacture export import stocks and consumption of substances controlled under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971. In addition to providing specific figures for movements of many scheduled substances the report includes commentary on emerging and ongoing trends in the licit market for psychotropic substances under international control.
