Published since 1948, this report examines various aspects of the previous year’s macroeconomic situation in the region and makes projections for the coming months. The study also includes country notes that review the performance of the main economic indicators in the period analysed.

Two outstanding features of the Venezuelan economy in 1966 were the announcement by the Government of economic policy measures in connexion with the petroleum sector and the fiscal branch, and a relative slackening of the over-all growth rate in comparison with its tempo in the preceding four years.
