Overview and prospects for financial inclusion in the Dominican Republic

Despite having rules and regulations aimed at facilitating access to financial products and services, the Dominican Republic has never had an explicit financial-inclusion strategy to systematically provide access to credit or savings products and to electronic means of payment for poor and rural populations.
