Annual and quarterly statistics for the national accounts of Costa Rica are prepared by the Department of Macroeconomic Statistics of the Economic Affairs Division of the Central Bank of Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica. The official figures are published annually and quarterly on the Internet at the home page of the Central Bank of Costa Rica (http://www.bccr.fi.cr/flat/bccr_flat.htm), in the section "Indicadores Económicos/Produccion y Empleo" ("Economic Indicators/Production and Employment") at (http://indicadoreseconomicos.bccr.fi.cr/indicadoreseconomicos/index.aspx?EsconderLogo=true). The concepts, definitions, basic statistical sources and calculation methods are described in detail in the document presenting the change in base year entitled Cuentas Nacionales de Costa Rica ("National Accounts of Costa Rica"), which is accessible online at the home page of the Central Bank of Costa Rica (http://www.bccr.fi.cr) in the section Publicaciones ("Publications"), under "Cifras de Cuentas Nacionales" ("National Accounts Figures"), in the file "documentopresentac.cambio de año base.doc" (at http://www.bccr.fi.cr/documentos/publicaciones/archivos/Cifras_de_Cuentas_Nacionales.zip).
