Introduction

Note: This report on resource efficiency has been produced by the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) International Resource Panel (IRP) in response to a request by G71 Leaders at the Summit held in June 2015 in Schloss Elmau, under the German Presidency. It is a Summary for Policy Makers of a much longer forthcoming Assessment Report by the IRP, which synthesizes the main work of the IRP and other international organizations and researchers in this area (UNEP, forthcoming in 2016a).
