Though the methods of planning and of plan implementation adopted in the centrally planned economies were closely related to political and social conditions prevailing in those countries, some aspects have relevance to the problems of planning in countries with different economic and social systems. Until recently, hardly any transfer of experience was possible in plan implementation, since in the centrally planned economies this was largely achieved through administrative order. The changes in methods of plan implementation currently taking place in the centrally planned economies, involving as they do increasing reliance on market forces and genral economic incentives, are tending, however, to enlarge the area of oommon interest amongst countries despite differences in their economic and social systems.
